Norway is my 13th surveying country
I am not sure that this “number 13” bring the good luck. But now for me is clear – this number bring surprises. Before my trip to Norway I am expected to work in typical Norwegian forest, but the area looks like some parts in Austria or Slovenia. The organizer this work in Norway is Indre-Ostfold OK. It is nice to have accommodation direct on the map – Tore and Harder arrange it. After two days survey I had first checking and discussion with Havard (controller the map) in the forest. I expect that in next two month will be surveyed 6-7 s.km area.
The Danish orienteering federation successfully introduces Laser scanning!
Snow in the end of March has detained for some days the begin of my work in area Aalborg. But orthophoto (0.5 meter/pixel) and OCAD file with Laser scanning data which I have received from DOF, makes pleasant impression. Contours are traced through 1,25 m. My task: to finish surveying a small fragment, to estimate quality of base maps and to be defined with speed of survey for area of similar type.
February-March: island in sea of Marmara!

To the best turkish orienteering club from Istanbul has luck again: I had a free time and I am going to survey the first island in my history. The island "Heybeliada" is located near to Istanbul in sea of Marmara and will be used for 5 days competition in this year (www.ist5days,com). Preliminary I have prepared images (200 x 300 m) from Google Earth with UTM grid, have processed them, have executed georeference all data. The Internet on island at me most likely will not be, so online the reporting is not expected too (Google map external llink).

Summer: again Austria
This time two new maps will appear at HSV Pinkafeld and HSV Villach. First area Sankt Lorenzen is located in the Alpes at heights 800-1100 m. It is pleasant, that a slope rather flat, and area pleasant for orienteering. As a basis are used orthophoto with resolution 0,25 m/pixel. Practically in any point of a map I approach on the car and there are to a place of drawing no more than 10 minutes.
The second area St.Jakob is located in the south of Austria near to border with Slovenia. The population talks here on slovenian and I well understand this language. Interesting erosive area, excellent accommodation near to a map - from hotel up to a wood of 700 meters. On a mountain bicycle I reach in a distant point of a map for 15 minutes.
